This year the Victoria Literary Festival will host its inaugural Short Story Contest. The contest’s finalist will receive a cash prize, the opportunity to be copy edited by a world-renowned copy editor, and publication in an anthology produced and sold by the festival.
With the help of writer-in-residence and former copy editor for the New Yorker, Mary Norris, international literary agents, Emma Price (Silvia Bastos) and Sandra Pareja (Casanovas and Lynch), PEI Government Communication Officer Mary Moszynski and a select group of panelists, we will select six short stories for this year’s anthology. One of the finalists will be selected from Island writers.
First prize will receive 350 CDN$ with four runners up receiving 50 CDN$ each. The contest will be open from July 10th with final submissions submitted by the 25th of August. Winners will be announced on September 10th. Submissions should be no more than 2000 words, and there is no fee to enter!
